Heading To Tokyo

This was the trip that nursed my love for travel. My father had to go for work, and the rest of the family decided to tag along. Hands down, best decision ever made. It was years ago, so I apologize for not having pictures. I can’t find any of them anyway. I fell in love with Tokyo. Granted, I still don’t think I appreciated the experience as much as I should have. I was a kid so I was being super ungrateful. Instead of actually taking in the sights and enjoying all of what Tokyo had to offer, I was waking up at 5 am everyday to talk to my friends back home.

There were times when my mom asked me to go out and explore with her and I said no because I didn’t want to hit the pause button on a meaningless conversation with friends I don’t even have now. Tokyo is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever visited to this date. There are so many things to do, that you definitely won’t get everything done in one trip. I plan on going back within the next year or two. Make sure to try ALL of the food, it is delectable. The best way to get around is the train, that shit you see in movies about the crowd, is fucking real.

What I will say is, if you’re short like me, you’ll fit in just fine. It is so refreshing to go to a city and not feel like a shrimp standing next to the locals. The fashion, oh the fashion. It is definitely something to see for all you fashionistas out there. The way the kids there express themselves by how they dress and wear their hair tells you a great deal about the culture. The men work until almost 10 o’clock at night and go get drunk after work damn near everyday. There is nothing like drunk Japanese men trying to get on the train HIGHLY intoxicated. I promise, you’ll never forget it.

Have you ever been to Tokyo?

With Love,
