It’s arguably top 3 best albums of 2017.
I finally took a listen to Big K.R.I.T.’s new album “4eva Is a Mighty Long Time.” That album got me through 2 hours of meal prep and I didn’t even realize it. It’s set up like a double album with 22 songs and its lit from top to bottom ya’ll. After a 2 year hiatus from music and being released from his record deal, Big K.R.I.T released this project independently. You can hear the hunger for greatness. He touches on mental health, spirituality, his fears and everything that you go through during this thing called life. Its so refreshing to hear a complete project in this era of microwave music and mumble rap. In a time where everything sounds the same, K.R.I.T. makes sure he sets himself apart and into the limelight.
He took us to church.
In my honest opinion, I strongly prefer the second set of songs over the first. “Keep The Devil Off” and “Miss Georgia Fornia” are my top two. They are closely followed by “Lay up,” “Aux cord,” and “Ride Wit Me.” The honesty is so real that it makes you uncomfortable. “Keep The Devil Off” will take you to church any day of the week and twice on a Sunday. Its what we need in this era of hate that we’re living through. When he addresses his depression and his fears in “Drinking Sessions” I want to give him a hug because I fully understand. Regardless of which set of songs is your favorite, Big K.R.I.T.’s new album will not disappoint. I think you’ll be surprised and impressed by the lyricism on every track.
The tracklist is below. Let me know your thoughts and your favorite tracks on the album, let’s debate about it. Don’t be scared to try something different, it might change your life.
