We all know that feeling. I honestly hate it. Jet lag is that bitch you can’t seem to avoid at work. I love to travel. I’ve had to deal with it on so many different occasions and it still kicks my ass somehow. However, I had figured out a few ways to manage it so it doesn’t whoop your ass too bad.

1. Fly At Night

When you take an international flight that departs in the middle of the night, it is way easier to adjust to different time zones. For example, for my trip to Thailand, our flight left at 3 a.m. and we got to Thailand at 12:05 the next day, I was wide awake. If you can’t get any sleep on the plane like me, I recommend taking some sleeping pills. I use the zzz-quil tablets.  It’ll make the flight go by a lot faster and shit, you really don’t have anything better to do.

2. DO NOT Take A Nap When You Arrive

When you get to the hotel, don’t fall asleep. Especially if its in the middle of the day. When you get there, make sure you go out and explore. Don’t fall asleep until it’s actually night time wherever you are. Falling asleep in the middle of the day is the number one cause of jet lag. I’m telling you, waking up in the middle of the night and sleeping in the middle of day will confuse the shit out of you when you get home. I got back from Thailand and slept so long I thought it was Thanksgiving. It wasn’t until my friend texted me and told me I had to wait one more day for some turkey.

3. If All Else Fails – Call Out From Work

We’ve all done it. You go on vacation, get lit out of your mind, come home, and you need to recover. Going to work the very next day can kick your ass if you’re not ready for it. Take a sick day – all of a sudden you’ve got a migraine. Can’t come in, your boss will understand. Chill sis, recover.

With Love,
